The kissing couple is standing at the Hempont in the Amsetdam Western harbor area. 

Model for the statue is a Dutch souvenir in Delft blue that has been enlarged to 6 and a half meters. 

The statue was designed by the artist Sake van der Eerden (Lierop 1971).
