The rear of the Royal Palace on Dam Square.

Often used as an entrance by King Willem Alexander

when he receives guests in the former city hall of Amsterdam.

Under the watchful eye of Atlas who is atop the tympanum

keep an eye on the Raadhuisstraat.

While Atlas carries the globe on his shoulders,

there are two more statues to the left and right of him.

Depicting moderation and vigilance.

Along with the images peace, prudence and justice

served as an example for the judges who used 

to speak justice in the building.
