The business park of the central market halls was opened in 1934.
Food was traded here to supply catering establishments and supermarkets in the city.
There were several warehouses on the site around the central market hall, as well as docks where the goods were brought in by boat.
The entire site was closed and only accessible for traders.
After 80 years, the area of the market halls is divided into two parts.
The companies will be moved to the north side of the site and the monumental market hall will be restored.
The market hall will accommodate various (sustainable, small) companies and cultural events.
South of the market hall, 1700 residential units will be built.
The old market canteen (panurbana 100) and the adjacent buildings will be demolished.
